Trinity42 x Alliance Bank Virtual Workshop | Survival IS Profit Series #1 |

A Recap: Survival IS Profit #1: Trinity42 x Alliance Bank Virtual Workshop

Missed our first virtual workshop in the Survival IS Profit series? Here are some of the highlights from the discussion between Mr. Christopher Ng from Trinity42 and Pn. Fozia from Alliance Bank.

How can Businesses Gain an Upper Edge for More Online Customers?

In our Q&A session, our viewers had an opportunity to voice out their questions and business concerns. Here is how our team responded. An edited transcript for better clarity and grammar is added below the video.

"I think, like Pn. Fozia also mentioned, Alliance bank also launched a lot of platforms suitable for the SMEs, that can be used to market to the ready community that Alliance Bank already gathered. Of course, in terms of digital marketing, there are many aspects to look at, like the funnel that I shared just now.

"Awareness - People need to be aware of your brand, your service or your products.

"Then, you need to drive people to the second stage to get people to consider you, like the value propositions you have, the game creator you're providing, or the pain points that you are relieving.

"Then, these people can come and connect with you. While they're considering you, or negotiating the services and products with you, offer them good engagement so that you can push them down the funnel and ultimately convert them into your clients.

"The process does not stop there. You'd still have to continue the clients' experience or the clients' journey to make sure that they can become your returning customers; Those customers can become your raving fans - and help you spread the word about your brand to the public.

"That's what you want in terms of digital marketing aspect. That's how you can get an edge there. "

It's everywhere on the news - businesses are shutting down or operating remotely in compliance with government-issued orders to combat Covid-19 more effectively. Amidst the new remote working situation and efforts to flatten the curve for the spreading of Covid-19 nationwide, there is one unspoken concern among business-owners and employees - how is their business going to survive?

Prepare Your Business & Digital Presence for Covid-19 with These 5 Methods: A Guide for Businesses by PanPages TRINITY

There is no doubt that Covid-19 outbreaks are affecting businesses big and small all around the world. Travel options and permissions are limited, in-store traffic is low and events of all sorts are being canceled.

With little to no other way to keep their business running, many companies are resorting to digitizing their business.

How Lin Qingxuan Digitized Their Business to Face Covid-19 and Increased Their Sales by 200%

China was the first country to face the heavy impact of Coronavirus on their businesses and economy. As the number of daily cases swindle and some sense of normalcy finally returns to the country, some businesses are springing back up, growing stronger after changing their business strategies.

One such example would be Lin Qingxuan, a cosmetic company in China, which had to close 40% of their stores during the crisis. However, their employees were not laid off.

Instead, Lin Qingxuan redeployed over 100 beauty advisors from these now closed-down stores as online influencers, making use of WeChat and other digital platforms to engage customers virtually and sell their products online.

The result? A 200% growth in sales as compared to the previous year - and this is just in Wuhan, without accounting for closed stores in other cities in China.

Speaking of online sales, the first step that you'll have to go through would definitely be as follows:

5 Ways to Prepare Your Business for Digitization & Brand Awareness Online in the Rise of Coronavirus

Step 1: Equip Your Business for Online Transactions

Equip your business for online transactions to digitize your business for Covid-19

Unless your business is in the healthcare sector, it's highly likely that footfall traffic to your store or its branches will fall during this crisis.

Other businesses may still need your goods however, and so would resort to obtaining your products and/or services online. You can facilitate this process by building an eCommerce website. You can then promote your online store on your website, your social media channels and more.

Many digital marketing companies will still be able to provide their services online (That includes us!), and so finding a service provider to help you get this done should be easy. You can find out more about our business website services here.

Step 2: Prepare Your eCommerce Website

Prepare your eCommerce Website to Digitize Your Business

Ensure that your eCommerce platform has a secure payment option, and that your clients can track their product delivery status - simple yet essential features like this will help your eCommerce platform even long after the Covid-19 pandemic has died down.

If there are any service changes for your business, display a message about it on your homepage.

If there could be needs for scheduling or re-scheduling in-person appointments, add a feature to facilitate the process. This can be done by using a Google Form, a calendar booking widget and many others.

Some of you may already have websites with product pages, detailing product specifications and variations. If you're already at this point, you'll only need to add online ordering, online payment and delivery to your website.

Step 3: Create More Digital Content

Create More Digital Content to Digitize Your Business

Remote operation means that you may not be in your customer's top of mind considerations. Remind your customers that you're still around by adding fresh content for your business every now and then.

Update your customers via channels such as:
    • Video updates
    • Social media posts
    • E-mail newsletters
    • Blog posts
    • Webinars
Create a variety of materials that can attract their attention and update them on your latest products, promotions and more.

Step 4: Increase Engagements on Social Media

Actively Respond in Social Media to Digitize Your Business

Your customers could be turning to social media platforms for updates on what is happening around them, especially scenarios affecting their family members and close ones.

Update your social media posts and engage with your customers more in this duration. Prompt for engagements, answers or feedback from your users in your posts, and respond to any inbound messages that you may receive from your posts.

You may find new opportunities through social media monitoring as well. Potential customers could be voicing their needs on social media platforms, and you can turn this into an opportunity to provide for them through virtual means.

    Step 5: Consider Larger Projects

Consider Acting on Larger Projects to Improve Your Business Digitization

Carried out most of the above measures? This off-time may be the best opportunity for you to make that upgrade you've been discussing with your team for a while.

Treat the remote working time as an opportunity to upgrade your business assets and yourself.

Attend online webinars with your colleagues, take online courses, brush up your digital marketing knowledge or more. You might find some ideas and techniques to improve your digital presence through these means. Some digital upgrades that you can consider for this duration include:

    • Website redesign
    • Website security, accessibility & privacy optimizations
    • Website SEO improvements
When your customers are ready to return, they'll find your fresh digital presence prepared to convert more customers than ever.

    Last but Not Least...

Your business can still run digitally, and here are some ways that we can help you.

Remember that these measures could continue to benefit your business in the long-term.

The eCommerce website that you designed could be generating easier, faster sales with a good Google Ads campaign, and you can boost your Facebook posts about your online sales promotion effectively with the right Facebook Ads settings.

If your business could do with some boost online to make customers aware of your product offerings online, we can help.

Making a company website is not an easy process. There are plenty of things to consider, and you need to have adequate information available to increase your credibility. Your customers will trust you more if your website looks professional and has enough information in it. This is why you must at least have the following information and elements on your website.

6 Basic Content to Have on Your Website to Establish an Online Presence | A guide by PanPages TRINITY

6 Basic Content to Have on Your Website to Establish an Online Presence

    About Your Company

Include a brief introduction of your business, with information such as:
    • Company Name
    • Core Products
    • Company Location
    • Years of Establishment
If your company deals with food or other consumables, you can consider including the following as well:
    • Hygiene grade certificate
    • Halal certificate

    Service or Product Page

Ensure that your products and services are well-categorized and have adequate information. Some details that you'll want to have on these pages include:
    • Product photos
    • Product description
    • Similar products
    • Product price (if e-commerce is available)

    Contact Page

Where should your customers find you? Include any relevant details that you need on this page, such as:
    • HQ address (Google Maps & Waze links are a bonus!)
    • Location for other branches
    • Contact number
    • E-mail for inquiries
    • Contact/ inquiry form
    • Links to your social media accounts where applicable

    Past Projects

If you provide services instead of products with set prices, have a page that shows your work results in past projects would be a good idea. Try to include:
    • Past project location/ name
    • Services included
    • Photos of completed project

    Client Testimonials

Who better to vouch for you than your previous customers? Offer a discount or a complementary add-on product for your customer's next purchase if they leave a review for the product/ services they subscribed from you. Include the following where possible:
    • Client Name / Company Name
    • Client Photo / Company Logo
    • Product bought/ Services subscribed
    • The review itself, of course.

With these information on your website, your website is set for some smooth operation. However, you still need one more thing to help your website get more attention online.

You can do this by implementing some SEO optimization for your website.

Website SEO - Title, Description & Social Card Image

An example of SEO in action would be as shown in the image above.

When I search for our company's blog (you're on our blog right now), you'll see something like this in the search results.

"PanPages TRINITY | Articles Library" is our Blog SEO Title, while the rest of the description underneath would be the SEO description.

These gives a good overview of the types of content that you can expect in the blog.

If your business includes products that you're going to sell, remember to include good keywords for your core products in your SEO title and description too!

Having a good SEO will improve your website's ranking in Google's search results and help it to come up when relevant search queries are made.

Not Sure Which Keywords are Good?

TRINITY's business website packages include SEO Titles & Descriptions, and we will also help you with the website layout and design. You only have to send us your digital assets - logo, product photos & descriptions etc for us to get started.

Don't have a website yet? Don't worry - we have also helped many SME businesses to build their first business website with us.

Finally, the love bug season is behind us, and it's post-event chocolates are now available for cheap!

Along with Valentine's Day coming to pass, we have also uncovered some new insights to how consumers perform searches for their gifting endeavors on this special day.

Valentine's Day 2020 Google Search Trends

4 Google Search Trends on Valentine's Day Uncovered in 2020 - Insights and Tips by PanPages TRINITY, your preferred digital marketing agency in Malaysia

Below, we will disclose the four main findings post Valentine, and what you, as a business owner or an advertiser, can do to make the most out of the event the following year.

Valentine's Day Searches spike from February 11 to February 13

    Source: Google Search Data, U.S., Dec. 25, 2018–Feb. 28, 2019.

The searches for Valentine's Day starts to build up in January, and spikes between February 11 to February 13 - Talk about browsing for some last-minute gifting ideas, eh?

However, the searches for this event does not start only in January. In fact, the first searches for Valentine's Day often start right after Christmas, possibly by individuals who want to have a head-start for awesome gifting ideas.

    If you're an advertiser...

This means that you can start to create Valentine's day service package promotions, gift packages, and even your own blog article on creative Valentine's Day gift ideas from the end of December onwards!

More Searches for 'Gifts for Men' than 'Gifts for Women'

    Source: Google Search Data, U.S., Dec. 25, 2018–Feb. 28, 2019.

Now, we can't say for sure if it's mostly men or women doing these searches, but we can say that there are plenty more searches for 'gifts for men' than there are 'gifts for women'.

In fact, the "for men" searches outnumber the "for women" searches by 3.5:1!

This data does not only include the search query "gifts for men". It also includes data for search terms such as "gifts for boyfriend", "gifts for husband", "gifts for him" and many other terms that reflect men-related terms.

    If you're an advertiser...

This dataset does not mean that you should fully shift your advertising focus to 'for men' searches only. After all, "for women" searches are still present, even if they may be outnumbered by their gender counterpart searches.

Instead, knowing that there are likely to be more searches focusing on men, you can increase your advertising budget for the men's group, increase your keyword bidding prices for these terms, or both, to ensure that you will be reaching the individuals searching for these goods.

Of Valentine's Day GIFs and Gifts

    Source: Google Search Data, U.S., Dec. 25, 2018–Feb. 28, 2019.

We already know that the searches for gifts are sure to peak right before and on Valentine's Day itself. However, an even larger number of people are searching for GIFs pertaining to this festivity. However, while Valentine's gift searches have started since January, the searches for Valentine's Day GIFs typically start to pick up only a week or two before the big day.

While not shown in the graph, Google Search Data has also shown that the search volume for Valentine quotes exceed the searches for both gifts and GIFs.

It might be fair to say that merchants should remember to create content that includes these popular search queries alongside their product pages as well.

    If you're an advertiser...

Running Valentine's Day gift/ service display ads targeting keywords such as 'Valentine GIFs' and 'Valentine's Day Quotes' could give you some leverage in terms of advertising costs and brand awareness while other business competitors solely target their ads on product and gift terms.

Valentine's Day - Not Just for Your Significant Other

    Source: Google Search Data, U.S., Dec. 25, 2018–Feb. 28, 2019.

Searches for gifts during the Valentine's Day period are not limited for spouses and partners only! In fact, it would seem like this is a season for gifting, just like a second Christmas.

Even kids and pets are getting sweet Valentine's Day gifts so that they can join in on the celebration too!

    If you're an advertiser...

Having a landing page designed exclusively for Valentine's Day with sub-sections such as "For Him", "For Her", "For Kids", "For Pets" and even "For Your Best Friend" could work very well in your favor!

    Too long, didn't read?

    Here's a summary:
    • Valentine's Day searches start right after Christmas. Prepare your Valentine's Day promotion in advance!
    • There are 3.5x "For Men" searches for every "For Women" searches. Additional budget allocation is advised for men's group.
    • Valentine's Day GIFs and Valentine's Day Quotes start trending later than Valentine's Day Gifts, but have much more searches. Potential good ad targeting option here!
    • Searches for Gifts for Children and Gifts for Pets also peak on Valentine's Day. Limited time only products can be considered for  for these categories.
Stay tuned for more updates on Google Search Trends on other festive seasons!

Make Your Social Media Posts Compelling with the 4U's - A Guide on Content Marketing by PanPages TRINITY

In our last post about content marketing for social media, we included the 6C's - 6 tips to make your writing optimized for reading on these highly-visual platforms.

In this post, we'll explore the 4U's - 4 techniques to make your social media post compelling and the words and phrases that you can use to create the intended compelling effect.

The 4U's to Create Compelling Social Media Posts

Try to integrate words and phrases that reflect a sense of urgency, usefulness, uniqueness and ultra-specificity into your social media post to make it compelling.

Below, we'll include examples of these words and phrases and a few samples of these posts for your reference.

    Urgent

Create a sense of urgency in your posts. Use words and phrases that suggest a limited-time offer and prompt them to act immediately.

    Some examples can include:

    • Act fast
    • Ending soon
    • First come first served
    • First X customers only
    • For the next 24 hours
    • Get yours now
    • Limited stock available
    • Only X tickets left
    • Today only
You might notice that some of these examples include words such as 'Only', 'Now', 'Today', & 'Limited'. There are other examples of words that create a sense of urgency too. Feel free to share them in the comment section below.

    Useful

A product or a post is deemed useful to the reader if it's relevant to them. A post can seem useful to the reader if it provides information on how a product or service makes their work easier.

Remember to focus on 'YOU' rather than 'we' to highlight how important the product is to the reader rather than to your company's perspective.

Here's a few examples of words that reflect usefulness:

    • Better
    • Convenient
    • Easy
    • Faster
    • Improved
    • Instant
    • More
    • Upgrade

    Unique

What makes your products and services stand above the rest? Use words and phrases that can differentiate your business from other similar ones.

If you have the fastest, latest, cheapest product, show it in your writing. Use superlative terms (words ending in -est, or 'most...') where possible.

Here are some examples of terms that you can use to show why you provide unique products and services:

    • Latest/ Cheapest/ any other superlatives
    • First in Malaysia
    • One of a kind
    • Revolutionary
    • New
    • Special edition
    • Limited copies
    • Premium

    Ultra-Specific

A post can only be compelling if you include details about whatever it is that you want to promote. When you include details for your promotion, your audience can understand better what they are getting.

Then, they will be more motivated to learn more and follow through with any call-to-actions that you intend for them to go for.

Below are some of the details that you can include in your writing to increase specificity:

    • Date of promotion
    • Lunch hour promo hours
    • Location of warehouse sale
    • Percentage of discount
    • Retail prices of product without discount
    • Product model name
    • Giveaway contest deadline
Of course, there are many more ultra-specific details that you can include depending on your post context.

Remember to include the 4U's in your social media content posts to ensure that you can get more engagements on your posts!
