When Covid-19 outbreaks first reared its head in Malaysia on the 24th of January 2020, we were prepared for the orders to stay home and the retrenchment rates that follows. However, as one extension of Movement Control Order followed after another, the retrenchment rates were getting far more noticeable.

Many businesses were forced to temporarily close their physical stores when the first MCO ensued, and it soon became apparent that most businesses were unequipped to manage or run their business remotely. That's of little surprise; After all, which business would have expected to prepare for a pandemic when they first opened?

By June 15th, Bernama has reported a 5% unemployment rate in Malaysia - the highest spike so far since Covid-19 first affected our country - and the job market is expected to be affected for months that follow. While the government was handing out financial relief to affected individuals, families and businesses, we took initiative to push our business harder to help our local SMEs survive Covid-19.

Here at PanPages TRINITY , we are still creating more job opportunities with digital marketing-centralized careers despite the pandemic.

As brick-and-mortar stores closed their doors, we helped them to create online storefronts, get more noticeable online via Google Ads, Facebook pages and ads, or even global trading opportunities among other digital marketing services. We were grateful to clients who still stayed with us through this time, and we in turn also helped new clients to pave a new path for their business operation strategy by going digital.

Our company grew during this inopportune time, and we are honored to be opening our doors for new talents to join our company.

We Watched These Recruitment Videos, and We're Inspired

Agencies and companies out there are getting really creative with their job postings, and we sure are getting inspired!

We’re going to start this list with a recent recruitment drive from Domino’s Pizza which featured gamification of the recruitment process.

Domino’s Pizza

Domino’s Pizza showed their 6 job openings in a role-selection style that game enthusiasts would be familiar with in RPG games.

Then, each role is displayed with their strengths, weaknesses, weapons and special abilities. As an example, the role as a ‘remote call agent’ has a special ability in upselling for extra cheese add-on!

A fun style to portray jobs at their outlets, we would say. The video is only 47 seconds long, but it has already racked over 14K views after it was first published two weeks ago!

Fiverr

The title of their recruitment video gives viewers an overview of what they can expect from their recruitment video.

The video started with a quote, “This is another generic recruitment video”. It was followed by other statements describing the generic recruitment video - people walking into offices, looking thoughtful while biting a pencil, et. cetera.

As the video approached its end, Fiverr urged people to join Fiverr to do what they do best, from anywhere they are located.

Dropbox

Okay, so first of all, it’s muppets.

This recruitment video from Dropbox draws attention from their viewers simply from the fact that they replace the usual humans in recruitment videos with puppet impersonations of the actual staff.

These muppets share what it is like to be working at Dropbox. They love the people, and they share what the office environment is like. They also casually share the facilities available at the workplace, along with how the staff feel to be working there.

Recognition, pleasant environment, growth. So, join the puppets people at Dropbox!

Deloitte

This video takes a first-person perspective of your trip to Deloitte, where you face several different scenarios, such as accidentally spilling coffee onto another employee’s back and losing some important notes in a meeting.

You’re given 3 choices for each scenario, and each correct choice reveals a valued traits at Deloitte. At the end of the game, you can also dive deeper into the job roles, or choose to play again. Great experience!

Shopify

Well, there’s no limitation to what recruitment videos’ contents should be like.

Shopify took this fact to the next step by making a fun skit. The video centers around a HR employee trying to recruit new staff by following the CEO’s instructions. The problem is, he did NOT get the metaphor presented to him about ‘drawing the owl’.

The viewers are brought on a funny & delightful journey along with this employee as he searched for potential staff who knew how to draw owls. There’s even a short blooper at the back!
