3 Key Takeaways from Our Survival IS Profit Virtual Workshop #5

Missed our last workshop on July 1st 2020? Check out the summary and 3 key takeaways from our discussion with Alliance Bank, Vase.AI and Astro.

3 Key Takeaways from Our Survival IS Profit Virtual Workshop #5

The Lifestyle and Eating Habits of Malaysians have Changed

Trinity42's Survival IS Profit Virtual Workshop #5 Recap: The Lifestyle and Eating Habits of Malaysians have Changed
With the RMCO still in effect, the lifestyle and eating habits of most Malaysians have changed. According to data from Vase.AI, most Malaysians are still wary of eating out, with over 85% of them cooking at home, 24% getting takeaways and 23% ordering food deliveries.

Furthermore, those who are eating out are very cautious and concerned with the hygiene protocols and if the government set SOPs are adhered to at the F&B outlets.

The majority of Malaysians prefer to dine in open air restaurants and not air-conditioned restaurants as the air ventilation is smoother, perceiving that this reduces the risk of contracting the virus.

Cashless and Contactless Deliveries are becoming the New Norm

Trinity42's Survival is Profit Workshop #5 Recap: Cashless and Contactless Deliveries are becoming the New Norm

Food delivery platforms such as Foodpanda, GrabFood and other food delivery services are providing safer delivery options on their websites and applications.

This includes cashless deliveries to minimize physical contact, as well as contactless deliveries to eliminate any contact altogether. Data from Vase.ai has indicated that 65% of Malaysians always opt for cashless deliveries, and about 45% of Malaysians have opted for contactless deliveries.

With this new norm, it is evident that F&B businesses should be digitizing their business to engage their customers more effectively.

With this Current Shift in Consumer Behavior and Habits, What Can Businesses Do?

The main question businesses should be asking themselves today is:
“Is my business digitized enough? Am I ready if there is a second or third wave of COVID-19?”

If you are a small F&B business owner and you’re trying to think about how you can pivot through, you can do so by taking a holistic approach and applying a proper digital framework and plan to your marketing funnel.

Digitize Your F&B Business with a Proper Digital Marketing Funnel

    How the Marketing Funnel Works

Trinity42 | Digitize Your F&B Business with a Proper Digital Marketing Funnel

The marketing funnel describes your customers’ journey with you.

From the initial stages when someone learns about your business, to the consideration stage, marketing funnels map routes to conversion and beyond. By evaluating your funnels, you can potentially drive greater sales, more loyalty and stronger brand awareness.

The Tools & Platforms We Have Ready For You

Malaysian F&B businesses can leverage on our collaboration with Astro and Alliance Bank, as we can help you to connect your business to your customers or clients through paid and content marketing across digital channels to create awareness, leads and ultimately revenue.

In this workshop, Alliance Bank announced their Support Lokal initiative where local small businesses, especially in F&B businesses can reach out to new customers. Astro has also evolved to support businesses during and post MCO with new product offerings.

Our Next Survival is Profit Series

With COVID-19 keeping many of us inside and working from home, Trinity42 continues to host monthly Virtual Workshop series.

Check out our series, which will be a Casual Fireside Chat with Dato Sri Garry Chua from the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) on August 5, 2020 (Wednesday) at 3pm. Don’t miss it! Register here today!

PanPages TRINITY Group is still Hiring

When Covid-19 outbreaks first reared its head in Malaysia on the 24th of January 2020, we were prepared for the orders to stay home and the retrenchment rates that follows. However, as one extension of Movement Control Order followed after another, the retrenchment rates were getting far more noticeable.

Many businesses were forced to temporarily close their physical stores when the first MCO ensued, and it  soon became apparent that most businesses were unequipped to manage or run their business remotely. That's of little surprise; After all, which business would have expected to prepare for a pandemic when they first opened?

By June 15th, Bernama has reported a 5% unemployment rate in Malaysia - the highest spike so far since Covid-19 first affected our country - and the job market is expected to be affected for months that follow. While the government was handing out financial relief to affected individuals, families and businesses, we took initiative to push our business harder to help our local SMEs survive Covid-19.

Here at PanPages TRINITY , we are still creating more job opportunities with digital marketing-centralized careers despite the pandemic.

As brick-and-mortar stores closed their doors, we helped them to create online storefronts, get more noticeable online via Google Ads, Facebook pages and ads, or even global trading opportunities among other digital marketing services. We were grateful to clients who still stayed with us through this time, and we in turn also helped new clients to pave a new path for their business operation strategy by going digital.

Our company grew during this inopportune time, and we are honored to be opening our doors for new talents to join our company.

In case you missed our job postings on our Facebook page, we are still hiring for positions such as:

    • HR & Admin
    • IT Consultancy
    • Content Writer (URGENT)
    • Videographer cum Animator
    • Digital Media Sales Manager
... and many more. You can refer to our career page to find what could be your next job in the digital marketing industry. Think you have what it takes to join us? Apply in the forms at the bottom of the page to find out more!

A Recap: Survival IS Profit #1: Trinity42 x Alliance Bank Virtual Workshop

Missed our first virtual workshop in the Survival IS Profit series? Here are some of the highlights from the discussion between Mr. Christopher Ng from Trinity42 and Pn. Fozia from Alliance Bank.

How can Businesses Gain an Upper Edge for More Online Customers?

In our Q&A session, our viewers had an opportunity to voice out their questions and business concerns. Here is how our team responded. An edited transcript for better clarity and grammar is added below the video.

"I think, like Pn. Fozia also mentioned, Alliance bank also launched a lot of platforms suitable for the SMEs, that can be used to market to the ready community that Alliance Bank already gathered. Of course, in terms of digital marketing, there are many aspects to look at, like the funnel that I shared just now.

"Awareness - People need to be aware of your brand, your service or your products.

"Then, you need to drive people to the second stage to get people to consider you, like the value propositions you have, the game creator you're providing, or the pain points that you are relieving.

"Then, these people can come and connect with you. While they're considering you, or negotiating the services and products with you, offer them good engagement so that you can push them down the funnel and ultimately convert them into your clients.

"The process does not stop there. You'd still have to continue the clients' experience or the clients' journey to make sure that they can become your returning customers; Those customers can become your raving fans - and help you spread the word about your brand to the public.

"That's what you want in terms of digital marketing aspect. That's how you can get an edge there. "

It's everywhere on the news - businesses are shutting down or operating remotely in compliance with government-issued orders to combat Covid-19 more effectively. Amidst the new remote working situation and efforts to flatten the curve for the spreading of Covid-19 nationwide, there is one unspoken concern among business-owners and employees - how is their business going to survive?

Prepare Your Business & Digital Presence for Covid-19 with These 5 Methods: A Guide for Businesses by PanPages TRINITY

There is no doubt that Covid-19 outbreaks are affecting businesses big and small all around the world. Travel options and permissions are limited, in-store traffic is low and events of all sorts are being canceled.

With little to no other way to keep their business running, many companies are resorting to digitizing their business.

How Lin Qingxuan Digitized Their Business to Face Covid-19 and Increased Their Sales by 200%

China was the first country to face the heavy impact of Coronavirus on their businesses and economy. As the number of daily cases swindle and some sense of normalcy finally returns to the country, some businesses are springing back up, growing stronger after changing their business strategies.

One such example would be Lin Qingxuan, a cosmetic company in China, which had to close 40% of their stores during the crisis. However, their employees were not laid off.

Instead, Lin Qingxuan redeployed over 100 beauty advisors from these now closed-down stores as online influencers, making use of WeChat and other digital platforms to engage customers virtually and sell their products online.

The result? A 200% growth in sales as compared to the previous year - and this is just in Wuhan, without accounting for closed stores in other cities in China.

Speaking of online sales, the first step that you'll have to go through would definitely be as follows:

5 Ways to Prepare Your Business for Digitization & Brand Awareness Online in the Rise of Coronavirus

Step 1: Equip Your Business for Online Transactions

Equip your business for online transactions to digitize your business for Covid-19

Unless your business is in the healthcare sector, it's highly likely that footfall traffic to your store or its branches will fall during this crisis.

Other businesses may still need your goods however, and so would resort to obtaining your products and/or services online. You can facilitate this process by building an eCommerce website. You can then promote your online store on your website, your social media channels and more.

Many digital marketing companies will still be able to provide their services online (That includes us!), and so finding a service provider to help you get this done should be easy. You can find out more about our business website services here.

Step 2: Prepare Your eCommerce Website

Prepare your eCommerce Website to Digitize Your Business

Ensure that your eCommerce platform has a secure payment option, and that your clients can track their product delivery status - simple yet essential features like this will help your eCommerce platform even long after the Covid-19 pandemic has died down.

If there are any service changes for your business, display a message about it on your homepage.

If there could be needs for scheduling or re-scheduling in-person appointments, add a feature to facilitate the process. This can be done by using a Google Form, a calendar booking widget and many others.

Some of you may already have websites with product pages, detailing product specifications and variations. If you're already at this point, you'll only need to add online ordering, online payment and delivery to your website.

Step 3: Create More Digital Content

Create More Digital Content to Digitize Your Business

Remote operation means that you may not be in your customer's top of mind considerations. Remind your customers that you're still around by adding fresh content for your business every now and then.

Update your customers via channels such as:
    • Video updates
    • Social media posts
    • E-mail newsletters
    • Blog posts
    • Webinars
Create a variety of materials that can attract their attention and update them on your latest products, promotions and more.

Step 4: Increase Engagements on Social Media

Actively Respond in Social Media to Digitize Your Business

Your customers could be turning to social media platforms for updates on what is happening around them, especially scenarios affecting their family members and close ones.

Update your social media posts and engage with your customers more in this duration. Prompt for engagements, answers or feedback from your users in your posts, and respond to any inbound messages that you may receive from your posts.

You may find new opportunities through social media monitoring as well. Potential customers could be voicing their needs on social media platforms, and you can turn this into an opportunity to provide for them through virtual means.

    Step 5: Consider Larger Projects

Consider Acting on Larger Projects to Improve Your Business Digitization

Carried out most of the above measures? This off-time may be the best opportunity for you to make that upgrade you've been discussing with your team for a while.

Treat the remote working time as an opportunity to upgrade your business assets and yourself.

Attend online webinars with your colleagues, take online courses, brush up your digital marketing knowledge or more. You might find some ideas and techniques to improve your digital presence through these means. Some digital upgrades that you can consider for this duration include:

    • Website redesign
    • Website security, accessibility & privacy optimizations
    • Website SEO improvements
When your customers are ready to return, they'll find your fresh digital presence prepared to convert more customers than ever.

    Last but Not Least...

Your business can still run digitally, and here are some ways that we can help you.

Remember that these measures could continue to benefit your business in the long-term.

The eCommerce website that you designed could be generating easier, faster sales with a good Google Ads campaign, and you can boost your Facebook posts about your online sales promotion effectively with the right Facebook Ads settings.

If your business could do with some boost online to make customers aware of your product offerings online, we can help.
